• Originally the business sold hardware and ironmongery items, with a heavy chandlery section added during the 1920's to service ships in Barrow docks. During the 1960's as home ownership with gardens increased, a machinery department and workshops were introduced.

• Today we operate from four sites within the town centre. Our main site is 128 Buccleugh Street with hardware and housewares on the ground floor, marine chandlery and spare parts on the first floor. Our , Boat showroom and Workshop sites are all within 75 yards of Buccleugh Street.

• You will find our staff attentive to your needs, with an in depth knowledge of our stocks. Several senior staff have been with us for over 40 years. With great experience of products they can advise you on the most suitable purchase for your requirements.

• Customer care is our top priority, with computerised stock control, computerised spare parts control, and a large modern workshop equipped with manufacturers special tool and diagnostic equipment. The workshop also features a Dynamometer to tune outboard motors under full working load conditions.

• We operate a van delivery service throughout the Furness penninsula and South Cumbria. For customers further afield who require spare parts a postal service is available. The nationwide on-line service for housewares, garden machinery and tools will be available soon.

• Our stock holding runs to over 20,000 items, of which only a small selection are on this website. We are adding constantly adding products to the site, but of course it does take time.
